Senior Embedded DSP Software Engineer
Join the audio algorithms group at a medical wearable technology company. Implement, integrate, and optimize real-time DSP algorithms for resource-constrained embedded platforms. The role is hybrid, based in North Tel Aviv, with up to two days working from home.
Responsibilities
- Implement and integrate DSP algorithms on embedded platforms, including microcontrollers, DSP cores, and RTOS-based processors.
- Develop DSP blocks such as FFT/IFFT, digital filters, adaptive filters, noise reduction, and spectral processing.
- Profile and optimize software for memory footprint, latency, energy consumption, and hardware constraints.
- Manage fixed-point and floating-point trade-offs, numerical accuracy, dynamic range, and compiler optimizations.
- Collaborate with algorithm researchers, hardware designers, and system architects to deploy real-time audio processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of embedded software or firmware development experience, with substantial DSP implementation experience.
- Strong knowledge of fixed- and floating-point arithmetic, precision scaling, quantization noise, and compiler trade-offs.
- Experience implementing DSP functions such as FFT, FIR/IIR filters, and multirate signal processing.
- Experience deploying real-time DSP algorithms on embedded hardware in collaboration with algorithm or research teams.
- Strong C and C++ skills for bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Hands-on experience with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and JTAG/SWD debugging tools.
- Fluent English communication.
