Join a robotics and autonomy team developing software for autonomous underwater vehicles. Build and validate autonomy capabilities in simulation and through pool and sea trials, working closely with hardware and systems teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a ROS 2 autonomy stack for mission planning, navigation and vehicle control.
- Design and implement sensor-fusion and underwater-navigation algorithms.
- Develop and test algorithms in simulation, then validate and refine them during pool and field trials.
- Calibrate, monitor and troubleshoot software during sea trials.
- Integrate software with hardware in collaboration with hardware and systems teams.
- Document test results, findings and design decisions.
Requirements
- Experience developing software for robotics or autonomous systems
- Proficiency with ROS or ROS 2
- Experience with C++ and/or Python on Linux
- Understanding of navigation, mapping or control
- Experience with Git or a similar version control system
- Willingness to work on-site and support field and sea testing
Nice to have
- Experience with AUVs or UUVs
- Background in drones or other autonomous vehicles
- Experience processing camera, sonar or LiDAR signals
