Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate foundational distributed platforms in production
- Build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable services for multi-tenant environments
- Develop real-time data pipelines that ingest, store, analyze, and query high-volume events
- Own meaningful portions of backend services and improve their performance and reliability
- Use distributed infrastructure and open-source components such as Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch
Requirements
- Significant backend programming experience in Go, Java, Rust, C++, or another relevant language
- Experience addressing durability, availability, latency, scalability, and operability challenges
- Ability to work at a low level when required
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in a scientific or technical field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to design simple, high-performance systems
- Willingness to use AI tools to improve coding and problem-solving workflows
Nice to have
- Experience with AI coding tools and validating, critiquing, and refining generated output
- Interest in advancing AI-enabled software engineering practices and products
