Join a growing engineering team developing a unified merchant risk platform. Design scalable Java backend services, contribute to cloud-native microservices, and help evolve AI- and machine-learning-enabled products.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop the flagship merchant risk product.
- Build scalable, high-performance Java backend services and applications.
- Contribute to a microservices-based platform architecture on AWS.
- Own features and projects from design through production.
- Review code, architecture, and data to identify optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and engineers.
- Contribute to technical direction, engineering best practices, and process improvement.
- Use AI-assisted development workflows and automated code reviews.
- Identify and resolve issues proactively in an agile environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- At least 7 years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
- Experience designing and building microservices architectures.
- Experience with Spring Boot, JDBC or JPA, and Linux.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL; MySQL experience is preferred.
- Ability to independently own features and projects and solve complex technical problems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience using GenAI tools to improve development workflows.
- Experience with Elasticsearch.
- Python development experience.
- Experience with messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Couchbase.
- Experience with Jenkins and Maven.
