Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services and core platform capabilities
- Build AI-powered internal tools and standardized backend infrastructure
- Set technical strategy and best practices for AI-enabled engineering solutions
- Lead complex initiatives from design through production with cross-functional teams
- Conduct architecture and code reviews while mentoring engineers
- Define engineering processes, execution plans, and technical approaches
- Build platforms, frameworks, and infrastructure that improve engineering productivity
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify practical development workflow improvements
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a master's degree
- Experience leading complex technical initiatives and mentoring engineers
- Strong Python development skills and deep distributed systems expertise
- Experience building scalable cloud systems, APIs, databases, and production services
- Experience with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Claude
- Understanding of LLM application architectures, including prompt management, structured outputs, tool calling, agentic frameworks, and semantic routing
- Experience with vector databases, event streaming platforms, and modern AI frameworks
- Ability to evaluate AI solutions for scalability, security, privacy, latency, reliability, maintainability, and cost
- Strong communication and cross-team technical influence
Nice to have
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and production operations
- Experience in fintech, banking, payments, compliance, fraud, or other regulated environments
- Experience with big data technologies
- Background in data science, machine learning engineering, or MLOps
