Build and operate cloud-native backend services using Go as the primary language and Java where needed. Own features from design through production health while collaborating on scalability, reliability, and product improvements.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and ship backend services for a cloud-native product
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable Go and Java code
- Own features end to end, including APIs, data models, tests, rollouts, and production health
- Collaborate with product partners and engineering peers on scalability and reliability decisions
- Propose and drive incremental product improvements
- Apply DevOps and cloud-native practices to software development and operations
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience building backend services in Go and/or Java
- Strong production experience in at least Go or Java, with Go as the primary language
- Experience with REST and/or gRPC web APIs
- Hands-on experience with relational databases and data modeling
- Experience shipping and operating production services, including rollouts, monitoring, and production health
- Experience with automated testing and continuous integration
- Ability to assess scalability and reliability trade-offs
- Effective use of AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude without compromising code quality or engineering judgment
