Senior Deep Learning Engineer
Join an R&D team developing deep learning algorithms for automated optical inspection systems. Take end-to-end ownership of model design, training, optimization, and deployment. Work with large-scale real-world data and collaborate across software, system, and product teams to solve complex multi-disciplinary challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize deep learning algorithms for AOI image analysis and inspection use cases
- Conduct applied research and translate state-of-the-art DL methods into robust production solutions
- Take end-to-end ownership of algorithms: data analysis, model design, training, evaluation, optimization, and deployment
- Work with large-scale, real-world data and continuously improve performance, robustness, and scalability
- Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, product, applications, and field teams
- Understand and account for system-level constraints such as throughput, latency, deployment environment, and hardware
- Analyze failures, define KPIs, and drive continuous improvement based on production and field data
Requirements
- M.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- At least 4 years of hands-on deep learning algorithm development experience
- Strong background in deep learning theory and practice (CNNs, transformers, representation learning, optimization)
- Extensive Python experience with modern DL frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Proven ability to work on complex, multi-disciplinary systems beyond standalone research
- Experience leading algorithm development efforts, driving technical decisions, and mentoring engineers
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large, noisy, real-world datasets
- Ability to translate research ideas into production-quality, maintainable code
Nice to have
- Experience developing production-grade DL systems end-to-end
- Experience with C++ for performance-critical components
- Background in computer vision, image processing, or signal processing
- Experience with distributed systems, inference services, or large-scale deployment pipelines
- Demonstrated technical leadership or mentoring experience
- Exposure to industrial systems, high-throughput pipelines, or customer-facing products
