Senior AI Algorithm Developer
Develop algorithms for point-of-care ultrasound, connecting imaging physics, clinical needs, and product behavior. Own technical work from problem definition through evaluation and integration.
Responsibilities
- Own algorithm workstreams from problem definition and technical approach through implementation, evaluation, and integration.
- Translate clinical and product needs into algorithm requirements, measurable success criteria, and development plans.
- Develop solutions using deep learning, computer vision, image processing, and mathematical modeling.
- Assess how imaging physics, acquisition geometry, artifacts, and system constraints affect data and algorithm behavior.
- Define data and annotation needs, design reproducible experiments, investigate failures, and use findings to improve algorithms.
- Collaborate with software, imaging, clinical, and product teams to balance accuracy, robustness, latency, and computational requirements.
- Use generative AI tools to support research, coding, testing, and analysis, while verifying results and retaining technical ownership.
- Deliver maintainable code and technical documentation for integration, verification, and regulatory activities.
Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant technical or quantitative field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least four years of hands-on computer vision or image-processing algorithm development, including substantial deep learning experience.
- Strong Python skills and practical experience with PyTorch or an equivalent framework.
- Strong mathematics and ability to reason about physical systems, measurement processes, and their implications for algorithm design.
- Experience designing experiments, evaluating performance, and identifying limitations in data, models, implementations, or imaging systems.
- Ability to use generative AI tools critically and verify resulting code and analysis.
- Demonstrated ownership of technical work, sound decision-making, and clear communication.
Nice to have
- Experience with ultrasound, medical imaging, computational imaging, or signal processing.
- Experience with temporal modeling, tracking, 3D computer vision, or computational geometry.
- Experience with C++, inference optimization, or deployment on resource-constrained systems.
- Experience taking algorithms from feasibility studies into integrated products.
