Own the internal AI platform used by teams across the company to build and operate secure, scalable AI-powered tools. This hands-on Staff-level role combines platform architecture, production engineering, roadmap ownership, and cross-functional technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop the company’s shared internal AI platform.
- Write and maintain production code for reliable, secure, scalable AI infrastructure.
- Own the platform roadmap and improve its usability for internal development teams.
- Establish technical direction and identify opportunities where AI can create business leverage.
- Engage stakeholders across the organization and translate their needs into clear platform plans.
- Measure AI system quality, cost, safety, and performance while detecting regressions.
- Implement secure controls for autonomous systems, including access management, monitoring, escalation, and audit.
- Own supporting cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes environments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
Requirements
- Extensive Staff-level engineering experience building and operating high-scale systems while remaining hands-on with production code.
- Strong practical knowledge of modern AI systems, including model APIs, multi-agent orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, CLIs, and MCP.
- Experience building or operating model gateways that route inference across providers based on cost, latency, capability, and data sensitivity.
- Experience evaluating and improving AI systems, including quality, cost, safety, and regression monitoring.
- Security-first engineering practices, including guardrails, least-privilege access, human escalation, monitoring, and auditability.
- Strong DevOps foundation across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Ability to identify AI opportunities, shape stakeholder needs into a roadmap, and communicate technical direction through executive level.
- Experience influencing and partnering with engineering, product, go-to-market, operations, security, legal, and finance teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in a regulated, high-trust environment such as fintech, security, or digital asset custody.
- Experience working across large organizations with complex stakeholder groups and dependencies.
- Familiarity with digital assets, blockchain, or Web3.
