Lead the architecture and delivery of AI-powered backend systems for a supply chain and industrial automation platform. Build production LLM services, APIs, agent workflows, and AI infrastructure in a hybrid Israel-based role.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, design, and delivery of LLM-backed backend services
- Develop and evolve APIs exposing AI capabilities to internal and customer-facing systems
- Productize prompt-based and agent-based workflows using modern LLM frameworks
- Establish evaluation, monitoring, and observability frameworks for production AI systems
- Integrate AI services with existing backend systems for scalability and reliability
- Partner with product, platform, and data teams to define technical strategy and deliver AI features
- Mentor engineers and improve code quality, system design, and AI engineering practices
- Improve system robustness through AI engineering and agent harness design
- Evaluate and introduce modern LLM tooling for production use
Requirements
- At least 7 years of backend or platform engineering experience, including ownership of production systems
- Strong hands-on experience building and scaling production backend services in Python
- Experience designing, architecting, and maintaining REST or asynchronous APIs at scale
- Production experience integrating LLMs, including prompt engineering, inference optimization, and agent-based workflows
- Experience working with large real-world datasets and complex operational systems
- Technical leadership experience guiding architecture and mentoring engineers
- Strong problem-solving ability and a product-oriented mindset
Nice to have
- Expertise with FastAPI or comparable Python backend frameworks
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, or similar agent orchestration frameworks
- Knowledge of agentic AI patterns and agent harness design
- Experience operating multi-agent reasoning workflows in production
- Experience scaling AI systems in production
- Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, or industrial AI engineering
