Own the end-to-end delivery and continuous improvement of production AI systems, from problem definition and architecture through implementation, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and support. Work with engineering, product, business, and architecture stakeholders on high-impact solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own solutions from business problem definition through architecture, production delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Design and build production AI systems and agentic workflows
- Develop evaluation harnesses, metrics, and test sets before deployment
- Co-design decision logic, risk thresholds, and success metrics with stakeholders
- Operate production services, including monitoring, alerting, observability, and on-call support
- Participate in design reviews and improve engineering practices
Requirements
- At least 7 years of backend engineering experience
- Experience shipping and operating production AI systems
- Knowledge of agentic architectures, orchestration, multi-step workflows, and fallback logic
- Ability to define evaluation metrics, build test sets, and create evaluation harnesses
- Experience across prompts, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, orchestrators, and backend systems
- Strong understanding of reliability, maintainability, security, observability, latency, and cost
- Practical fluency with AI-assisted coding tools
- Understanding of AI-system risks including hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage, unreliable tool execution, and uncontrolled autonomy
- Ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information and communicate problems directly

- Experience in fintech or regulated environments
- Experience with financial workflows or other high-stakes systems
