Lead a Data Operations team responsible for the stability, reliability, performance, and evolution of enterprise data environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure. The role combines hands-on operations, production ownership, automation, monitoring, and GCP cloud transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Data Operations team, including priorities, goals, and daily operations
- Own the availability, stability, performance, and reliability of enterprise data systems
- Operate and maintain ETL processes and scheduling environments
- Administer BI platforms, servers, permissions, databases, and performance
- Handle production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements
- Build and improve monitoring and alerting capabilities
- Develop and maintain CI/CD and automation for data pipelines and environments
- Support cloud transformation and data operations on GCP
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, AI, Full-Stack, and Cloud teams
- Support data governance, security, configuration, and cross-organizational technology initiatives
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience managing a data or data operations team
- Hands-on operational experience with ETL, data warehouses, BI, scheduling, and monitoring environments
- Experience with enterprise ETL tools such as DataStage or Informatica
- Experience with scheduling tools such as Control-M
- Experience administering BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, or Pyramid
- Strong technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and a system-wide mindset
Nice to have
- GCP, AWS, or Azure cloud experience
- Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar monitoring tools
- Spark or Kafka experience
- Linux or Windows infrastructure knowledge
- Infrastructure or application DBA experience
