Lead a Data Operations team responsible for reliable, secure, and efficient enterprise data platforms across on-premises and Google Cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and develop a Data Operations team, including work allocation, operating routines, and objectives
- Own the availability, stability, and performance of on-premises data systems
- Operate and maintain ETL workflows using IBM DataStage and scheduling processes using Control-M
- Administer BI platforms and servers, including upgrades, permissions, configuration, and performance
- Handle operational database administration and database maintenance
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, lessons learned, and recurrence prevention
- Build and maintain CI/CD processes for data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment scenarios
- Establish proactive monitoring and alerting to detect data platform issues early
- Automate operational workflows and reduce manual work through scripting
- Own operations for data environments on Google Cloud and support cloud transformation
- Design cloud operating processes aligned with FinOps and information security principles
- Collaborate with data engineering, AI engineering, full-stack, and cloud teams to release developments into production
- Support data governance, access controls, security controls, and configuration management
- Coordinate with vendors, software providers, and cross-functional technology teams
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience managing a Data Operations or data team
- Strong operational experience with data platforms, ETL, data warehouses, BI systems, scheduling, and monitoring
- Hands-on experience with enterprise ETL tools such as IBM DataStage or Informatica
- Experience with Control-M or comparable scheduling systems
- Knowledge of BI platform administration, including Tableau, Power BI, BusinessObjects, or Pyramid Analytics
- Understanding of Linux or Windows operating systems and infrastructure
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple stakeholders, and provide strong internal service
Nice to have
- Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure and managed cloud services
- Experience with modern monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies including Spark and Kafka
- Background in infrastructure or application database administration
