Senior hands-on production role creating civil engineering drawings, coordinated BIM models, asset data, and client-ready infrastructure deliverables from design, survey, and existing-condition information.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain civil engineering drawings and 3D models using Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
- Develop coordinated BIM deliverables from design drawings, survey data, as-built documentation, and existing-condition information.
- Produce surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, grading models, pipe networks, sections, and construction documentation.
- Create existing-condition models from LiDAR scans and registered point clouds where applicable.
- Translate 2D engineering drawings into coordinated 3D models while capturing design intent.
- Incorporate survey data, point clouds, and subsurface utility information into CAD/BIM models.
- Update drawings and models throughout the project lifecycle and maintain version control.
- Develop and improve templates, standards, object libraries, and repeatable modeling workflows.
- Coordinate model exchanges and resolve data-quality issues with multidisciplinary contributors.
- Manage assigned production tasks independently and deliver accurate work within project schedules.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience with Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation, and BIM modeling, preferably on infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD; knowledge of OpenBuildings Designer or Revit is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to create accurate 2D drawings and coordinated 3D BIM models from engineering, survey, and existing-condition data.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings, survey information, coordinate systems, spatial data, and model setup.
- Experience delivering CAD/BIM work in ProjectWise environments and following structured workflows and client standards.
- Knowledge of BIM delivery requirements, including ISO 19650, BIM execution plans, and client specifications.
- Experience with infrastructure projects such as roads, railways, drainage, utilities, land development, or major structures.
- Strong QA/QC, problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines independently.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers, surveyors, multidisciplinary teams, and clients, with good technical English.
Nice to have
- Experience with scan-to-BIM and point-cloud-to-CAD workflows.
- Hands-on experience with OpenBuildings Designer and 3D MEP modeling.
- Experience with ReCap, Revit, InfraWorks, Navisworks, or similar tools.
- Experience developing CAD/BIM standards, templates, automation, or repeatable production workflows.
- Exposure to PAS 128 or ASCE 38-22 standards and Subsurface Utility Engineering practices.
