Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
Own mechanical design, packaging, and structural integration for opto-mechanical surveillance systems at an early-stage defense technology company. The role is hybrid, with three days working from home; the development facility is in the Sharon area.
Responsabilidades
- Own mechanical design, packaging, and structural integration from concept through production.
- Design opto-mechanical systems, environmental enclosures, brackets, mounts, structural assemblies, and multisensor platforms.
- Integrate cameras, optical payloads, electronics, compute modules, connectors, cable harnesses, and electromechanical mechanisms.
- Design for CNC machining and precision sheet-metal fabrication, including production and finishing processes.
- Address environmental sealing, thermal management, surface treatments, coatings, and structural integrity.
- Lead mechanical integration and validation for fixed, mobile, and maritime deployments.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and apply GD&T to manufacturing drawings.
Requisitos
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
- End-to-end mechanical design and product engineering experience with complex multidisciplinary or electronic systems.
- Daily, advanced SolidWorks skills for 3D modeling, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Hands-on design experience for CNC-machined aluminum and stainless steel parts and sheet-metal fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of tolerances, GD&T, environmental sealing, and protective coatings or plating.
- Experience integrating optics, sensors, electronics, cable harnesses, and electromechanical hardware.
- Ability to own a mechanical engineering function in an early-stage startup.
