Responsibilities
- Develop game concepts in response to briefs
- Define core gameplay loops, including player actions, goals, challenges, feedback, and rewards
- Design and document mechanics, rules, difficulty curves, and progression
- Explore player behaviors and interactions between game systems
- Create clear design documents supported by examples and diagrams
- Identify the minimum mechanics needed for an initial prototype
- Collaborate with the team to test ideas and refine gameplay
Requirements
- Ability to design gameplay and explain what makes it engaging
- Systems thinking, including understanding how mechanics connect and anticipating the effects of design decisions
- Clear, structured written communication
- Ability to scope ideas to available team resources
- Openness to feedback, testing assumptions, and revising designs
- Relevant games experience, independent projects, prototypes, or game design documentation are welcomed; experience contributing to games is an advantage
Nice to have
- Experience taking a concept through to a playable prototype
- Playtesting experience and examples of refining mechanics based on feedback
- Understanding of game development, interfaces, and visual asset production
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping tools, including AI tools
- Russian language skills
