A regional research institute seeks a researcher to establish and lead an Islamic studies research hub based in Jerusalem, supporting scholarly collaboration across the Middle East and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual research projects and initiate collaborative research programmes in Islamic studies
- Build partnerships with regional, local, and European research institutions
- Recruit and support doctoral researchers and contribute to their academic development
- Organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and other scholarly events
- Teach and mentor students and local specialists
- Publish research in institutional outlets, international academic journals, and scholarly presses
- Promote the institute’s research and maintain its academic partner network
- Secure external partnerships and public or private co-funding
Requirements
- Doctorate from a French or European Union higher-education institution by the application date
- Strong command of English, Literary Arabic, and a Levantine Arabic dialect
- French at CEFR C2 level if French is not the candidate’s native language
