A government organization is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage and maintain Windows infrastructure, storage, backup systems, and hybrid on-premises and GCP environments. The role is hybrid and includes periodic travel of up to 20% to support sites nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain operating systems, Windows servers, storage, and backup infrastructure.
- Administer SCCM for software distribution, image management, task sequences, and updates.
- Monitor and manage Commvault backups, including complex recovery operations.
- Support hybrid on-premises and GCP infrastructure.
- Provide infrastructure support to schools and administrative sites nationwide.
- Perform periodic field visits of up to 20% of the position.
Requirements
- At least four years of hands-on experience managing Windows servers and virtualized environments.
- At least four years of practical experience with SCCM, including task sequences, Sysprep, patch management, software distribution, imaging, updates, and troubleshooting smsts.log errors.
- Hands-on experience with Commvault backup monitoring and complex restores.
- Experience with Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, LAPS, and NTFS permissions.
- Experience with Check Point firewalls, EDR/XDR, F5/VPN, and NAC solutions.
- Experience managing mobile devices with MDM/UEM platforms such as AirWatch.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, IIS, and Exchange servers.
