Senior Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist

Own day-to-day bookkeeping through trial balance and balance sheet, manage Israeli payroll, and support global finance operations. Report to the Controller and oversee the accounting department.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, vendor payments, and customer reconciliations through trial balance and balance sheet.
- Manage and supervise the accounting department.
- Own month-end and year-end close, including bank, credit card, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed-asset reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, cut-off procedures, and allocations.
- Process Israeli payroll end to end, manage payroll accounting and reconciliations, and maintain compliance.
- Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across global entities and multi-currency accounting.
- Prepare and submit reports to Israeli authorities, including VAT, income tax, and National Insurance, and handle sales tax and tax filings with tax advisors.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for annual audits and external auditors.
- Support finance system improvements and workflow automation.
Requirements
- Certified Bookkeeper (Type 3) and Certified Payroll Manager certifications.
- At least 7 years of hands-on bookkeeping and payroll processing experience, including at least 2 years of managerial experience.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Avalara, Priority, and other ERP systems.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Israeli bookkeeping, tax, and payroll compliance, Israeli GAAP, and other GAAP standards.
- High level of written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Experience in high-tech or SaaS companies.
- Familiarity with invoice management and expense tools such as Dokka or Mesh.
- Ability to use AI capabilities in daily workflows.
