Lead the flight control domain for an autonomous drone platform, developing reliable control and guidance algorithms for safe operation in complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve flight control and guidance algorithms for autonomous drones
- Develop and optimize onboard control loops for real-time operation
- Take algorithms from concept and simulation through flight testing and production deployment
- Own algorithm design, implementation, testing, tuning, deployment, and production improvements
- Lead the flight control domain and drive technical decisions
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers on aerial autonomy capabilities
Requirements
- M.Sc. in aerospace engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, control systems, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience developing flight control or real-time algorithms for production systems
- Strong background in control systems, robotics, or autonomous systems, with a focus on control and stability
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics and aerial robotic systems
- Hands-on experience with control and estimation algorithms, including PID, state estimation, or sensor fusion
- Experience implementing and optimizing algorithms in C++ or Python
- Experience working with hardware, sensors, and real-time constraints
Nice to have
- Ph.D. in a relevant engineering field
- Experience with drones or flight control systems
- Experience with GNSS-denied navigation
- Experience with simulation-to-real workflows
- Linux development and debugging experience
