Work in Yokneam Illit, Israel, developing electro-mechanical test jig solutions. Evaluate electrical and optical components, select interconnects, and support hardware, mechanical, and firmware/software design teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and firmware/software design teams to understand project requirements
- Research and evaluate manufacturers and suppliers of specialized electrical and optical components
- Analyze optical, electrical, power, data-rate, and physical form-factor parameters
- Recommend and select interconnect solutions based on performance, cost, and reliability
- Provide technical support during product development and testing
- Track trends and advances in automated jig technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Optical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience with electrical and optical components, including VCSEL and EML lasers, connectors, high-speed cables, fibers, and transceivers
- Experience evaluating insertion loss, return loss, dispersion, bandwidth, and related component parameters
- Familiarity with optical interconnect standards and protocols such as Ethernet, InfiniBand, and Fiber Channel
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management systems and processes such as Agile or PDP
