Technology Lead

Take ownership of technology and continued product development for an existing consumer cooking platform. Work with the founder on hands-on engineering, technical direction, and preparing the platform for growth. This early-stage, equity-based role currently has no salary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve core product features.
  • Own technical decisions and architecture.
  • Improve platform reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Work across the mobile app, backend, APIs, and data layer.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI capabilities.
  • Help define the technical roadmap and establish development practices.
  • Potentially help build and lead the engineering team as it grows.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on software development experience and a track record building and maintaining production software.
  • Experience with mobile, backend, web, or full-stack development.
  • Familiarity with APIs, databases, cloud services, and modern software architecture.
  • Ability to understand and pragmatically improve an existing codebase.
  • Sound problem-solving and technical judgment; able to work across product, architecture, and implementation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort with changing priorities and incomplete information in an early-stage environment.
  • High ownership and interest in helping build the company.

Nice to have

  • Experience with consumer applications, AI integrations, social products, recommendation systems, or early-stage startups.
  • Experience with the current technology stack: Flutter/Dart, Supabase/PostgreSQL, TypeScript/Deno, Gemini, and related services.
