Lead the creation of an internal development team and take technical ownership of a new B2B platform. The role combines hands-on full-stack development, architecture, team leadership, product ownership, and transition from an external vendor to an internal engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Build the internal development team from scratch, including hiring, process development, technical leadership, and mentoring.
- Lead hands-on development, coding, code reviews, complex technical problem-solving, and architectural decision-making.
- Own the external development vendor and manage the gradual transfer of knowledge and responsibility to the internal team.
- Build and maintain product architecture based on Python, AWS Lambda, and React.
- Own the product development lifecycle and collaborate with the CTO and Product team on platform strategy and delivery.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software development experience, including at least 3 years of full-stack development.
- At least 3 years of experience leading a development team, including code reviews, architecture decisions, and mentoring.
- Strong production development and architecture experience with Python and React.
- Experience with AWS, particularly Lambda and serverless architectures.
- Hands-on experience with microservices.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience using AI tools in day-to-day development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with external development vendors and transitioning systems or ownership to an internal team.
- Strong independence, ownership, and system-level thinking.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AI-based systems or financial systems.
