An established digital investigation and public safety technology company is hiring a senior engineer to develop secure embedded Linux platforms and support security research.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom Linux images for embedded platforms, with a focus on performance and security.
- Design and implement BSP components for compatibility and efficiency across hardware configurations.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with security research teams on emerging security challenges and new technologies.
- Track current security threats, trends, and technologies.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of low-level development experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience developing custom Linux images and BSPs for embedded systems using Buildroot, Yocto, or custom build systems.
- Strong C, C++, and Python programming skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux internals.
- Understanding of security and cryptography, including block ciphers, PKI, cryptographic hashes, MACs, and code signing.
- Experience with embedded systems and low-level programming, including RTOS or bare-metal development.
- Experience with SPI and I2C communications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Nice to have
- Rust or Go experience.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and practices.
- Knowledge of secure boot mechanisms.
- Knowledge of USB communication.
- FPGA design and development experience.
