Join an engineering team building a platform that automatically tests APIs for security vulnerabilities and logic flaws. The role combines backend engineering, algorithmic development, and application security.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Develop algorithms that analyze application context, infer API schemas, and generate valid requests.
- Build security simulations that manipulate API traffic to uncover vulnerabilities.
- Create automated pipelines to analyze HTTP responses, assess exploit results, and score application security.
- Develop scanning primitives, protocol parsers, and automated security detection features.
- Debug Linux-based systems, inspect network traffic, and optimize distributed services.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of backend software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and a strong understanding of operating system environments.
- Practical cybersecurity experience developing defensive security platforms or offensive security and simulation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, communication mechanisms, and API architectures such as REST and GraphQL.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Experience debugging distributed systems, analyzing protocols, and identifying root causes.
- Hands-on proficiency with at least one of PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
Nice to have
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Background in web application security, OWASP API Top 10, or dynamic application security testing (DAST).
