Researcher sought to advance large language models, dialogue systems, speech understanding, and agentic question answering for an AI-powered language learning product. The role spans original research, experimentation, evaluation, and production deployment.
Responsibilities
- Lead original research across LLMs, dialogue systems, speech, and language understanding.
- Design and run rigorous experiments and develop model architectures, fine-tuning strategies, and training methods.
- Manage the full research lifecycle from ideation and experimentation through evaluation and production deployment.
- Apply reinforcement learning, instruction tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and multimodal models to user-facing challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to turn research findings into shipped features.
- Set research direction and contribute to the long-term AI roadmap.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated record of applying academic research to industry products.
- Strong publication record at leading research venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, or NAACL.
- Experience researching and deploying production-grade machine learning or artificial intelligence systems.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch, Transformers, and modern large language model tooling.
- Strong knowledge of LLM pretraining, fine-tuning, post-training, and alignment techniques.
- Strong programming skills and ability to work across research and production engineering.
