Lead the architecture and implementation of an enterprise data warehouse in AWS. Design scalable data infrastructure for large-scale processing, business intelligence, and AI initiatives while guiding a data engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of an enterprise data warehouse
- Design, develop, and optimize cloud-based data solutions for massive datasets
- Select and implement AWS services and data formats for the core data platform
- Establish the technology roadmap for data infrastructure
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to data engineers
- Collaborate with developers, data scientists, and end users to define requirements
- Deliver data and AI solutions that integrate with downstream business intelligence tools
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
- Several years of experience as a Data Architect, with a strong background in Python- and Spark-based data engineering
- Deep expertise designing AWS cloud environments using Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR or EMR Serverless, and RDS
- Experience designing complex data pipelines with Airflow or Step Functions
- Experience with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture
- Expertise in large-scale analytical data structures, partition optimization, data lakes, data warehouses, Parquet, and Iceberg
- Strong leadership, analytical, collaboration, initiative, and self-learning skills
- Willingness to complete a computerized reliability test, security interview, and polygraph test
Nice to have
- Experience with BI tools such as QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI
- Familiarity with machine learning platforms
- Experience supporting generative AI or prompt engineering architectures
