Join a data team working across data engineering, databases, production operations, and data science and machine learning initiatives. This is a hybrid, full-time role in Hod Hasharon, Israel, with participation in an on-call rotation after onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams on data aspects of new features and existing systems
- Participate in database and data-design reviews
- Develop and improve SQL queries, stored procedures, schemas, data pipelines, and aggregation processes using SQL and Python
- Investigate and improve database and query performance
- Prepare data, develop features and transformations, and contribute to model development and evaluation
- Help bring analytical and machine learning solutions into production
- Troubleshoot data-related production issues and performance problems
- Monitor and support database maintenance and automated data processes
- Maintain and extend internal automation tools using Python and Bash
- Work with DevOps on database deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting in Linux environments
- Handle internal data extraction and analysis requests
- Document procedures, findings, and best practices
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a data, database, backend, or similar technical role; student positions count
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and window functions
- Understanding of database fundamentals, including transactions, indexes, constraints, DDL/DML, and basic data modeling
- Basic understanding of execution plans and query performance
- Hands-on Linux experience
- Interest in and basic hands-on knowledge of data science and machine learning
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Experience with Python or Bash scripting
- Experience with Oracle, Vertica, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or other relational or columnar databases
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Tableau or other BI tools
- Experience with data science or machine learning libraries and projects
