Senior Technical Product Manager, Runtime Internals

Own the product strategy and end-to-end development of runtime technology for production environments, partnering with engineering, research, customers, and go-to-market teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for runtime internals
- Develop expertise in runtime architecture, technology, and technical constraints
- Partner with engineering and research teams on low-level product challenges
- Translate customer and developer pain points into technical product requirements
- Make tradeoffs across performance, reliability, compatibility, coverage, usability, and time to market
- Identify opportunities to expand runtime capabilities and customer value
- Own features from problem discovery through design, development, launch, and iteration
- Engage customers and engineering teams to understand production environments and technical challenges
- Define success metrics and use product data, feedback, and experimentation to improve the product
- Translate technical capabilities into clear customer value with field, sales, and go-to-market teams
- Track developments in runtimes, observability, developer tooling, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI-driven software development
Requirements
- At least 4 years of product management experience, preferably with highly technical products
- Strong technical background and ability to work with senior engineers on complex system-level problems
- Experience with developer-facing products, infrastructure, observability, security, cloud platforms, or other deep-tech products
- Strong understanding of software architecture and modern production environments
- Ability to understand complex technical systems and build expertise in unfamiliar areas
- Strong product judgment, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to connect engineering depth, developer needs, and business impact
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and owning problems end to end
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- Hands-on experience as a software engineer, researcher, or in another highly technical role
- Knowledge of operating systems, runtimes, compilers, memory management, concurrency, or low-level programming
- Experience with C, C++, Rust, Go, Java, or Python
- Familiarity with Linux internals, containers, Kubernetes, eBPF, OpenTelemetry, or distributed systems
- Experience building products for developers, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or engineering leadership users
- Experience taking a deeply technical product or capability from zero to one
- Experience in an early-stage startup or similarly fast-moving environment
