Head of Product
Own product strategy and direction for a public data infrastructure business. Lead a senior product team while personally driving technical products from customer discovery through launch and adoption, in close partnership with R&D, customers, and go-to-market teams.
Responsibilities
- Set and evolve product strategy, translating company goals, customer needs, market opportunities, and technical capabilities into priorities.
- Own the roadmap and prioritization process, balancing customer needs, business opportunities, technical investment, and long-term scalability.
- Personally lead strategic initiatives from discovery and problem definition through requirements, execution, launch, and iteration.
- Lead and grow the Product team, hiring as the organization scales and setting a high bar for product thinking.
- Work with customers, prospects, partners, R&D, and go-to-market teams to discover problems, validate opportunities, and define solutions.
- Identify and validate new markets and product opportunities, taking technical products from discovery to first paying customers.
- Use customer insights, product usage, competitive intelligence, and market trends to guide decisions.
- Partner with R&D and engineering to define requirements and navigate architecture, scalability, performance, and feasibility trade-offs.
- Drive execution and alignment between Product and R&D, supporting effective delivery and product adoption.
- Define and track adoption, usage, customer impact, and technical success metrics; use results to improve product decisions.
- Build relationships with strategic customers and partners, serving as a senior product contact.
- Support product positioning, launches, and strategic opportunities; enable Sales and Customer Success to communicate product capabilities, roadmap, and value.
- Develop scalable product processes while maintaining a hands-on, ownership-oriented approach.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of product management experience, including significant ownership of technical B2B products and product strategy.
- Experience leading Product Managers while remaining hands-on in product work.
- Strong technical background, demonstrated by a computer science or software engineering degree or equivalent technical experience; able to understand APIs, data infrastructure, backend systems, and software architecture.
- Track record of taking complex technical products or features from discovery and definition through execution, launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Experience taking a new technical product from discovery to its first paying customers.
- Experience working with engineering teams on technical trade-offs, scalability, performance, and infrastructure.
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers and turning complex needs into scalable solutions.
- Analytical, data-driven approach to product decisions, including defining metrics and using quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, strategic judgment, and ability to take ownership in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
