Manage engineering readiness and supplier performance for new product introductions and ongoing production, ensuring quality, reliability, capacity, and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage product readiness timelines and quality, capacity, and automation roadmaps for high-volume manufacturing
- Lead engineering engagement with strategic suppliers for new product introductions and ongoing production
- Identify supplier risks, critical process parameters, and opportunities for optimization
- Set monitoring and documentation requirements for key process steps
- Establish supplier quality criteria and outgoing quality control procedures
- Analyze supplier yield, production metrics, and quality performance; drive corrective actions
- Align design, product, reliability, and quality teams with supplier capabilities and product timelines
- Conduct supplier technical audits and advise on manufacturing and quality processes
- Own technical issues through investigation, root cause, recommended solutions, implementation plans, and assigned owners
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, or a related technical field
- At least 8 years of engineering experience, including substantial work in process management, manufacturing engineering, or new product introduction
- Ability to understand complex manufacturing processes and identify critical control points
- Experience with process quality methods, yield analysis, data interpretation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions through verified closure
- Ability to manage technical programs to committed timelines and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Sound judgment in balancing technical risk, schedule, capacity, cost, and operational needs
Nice to have
- Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies, including advanced packaging, high-speed PCBs, and electro-mechanical systems
- Familiarity with new product introduction processes in a fast-paced technology company
- Track record of improving supplier quality or yield
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability and design for testability
