Lead a multidisciplinary mechanical engineering team in a hardware R&D environment, overseeing sustain engineering, production issue resolution, mechanical design, and department processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of 15+ mechanical design engineers, draftsmen, librarians, and lab technicians
- Own sustain engineering, hardware bug resolution, and ongoing product support
- Lead investigations into production issues, reliability challenges, and failure analyses
- Support design teams through hands-on mechanical design work
- Lead inspection and approval of second-site and second-source parts and components
- Improve mechanical department methodologies and working procedures
- Maintain CAD and PLM systems and promote efficient workflows
- Manage and mentor draftsmen and mechanical lab and workshop technicians
Requirements
- B.Sc. or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years managing engineering teams in an R&D environment
- Expertise in mechanical engineering processes
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical packaging, PCB/PCBA design, liquid-cooled systems, and sheet metal design
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools, preferably Creo
- Experience designing components and systems for high-volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of quality, manufacturability, and robust production principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hebrew

- Experience in fast-paced R&D environments
- Experience collaborating with OEMs and ODMs
- Experience drafting Statements of Work
- Background in global enterprise telecommunications
- Experience developing design methodologies
- Understanding of AI tools for mechanical design and design debugging
