Lead the professional and organizational activities of an antenna and electromagnetics engineering department supporting airborne communications, navigation, and radar systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of antenna and electromagnetics engineers
- Set research and development objectives and drive technological innovation
- Plan resources, assign work, and prioritize team activities
- Lead antenna and antenna-array development from requirements definition through design, prototyping, laboratory testing, and antenna-range testing
- Perform analyses using CST and MATLAB, including system-level link-budget calculations
- Lead antenna design through planning, manufacturing, and integration
- Plan and control project schedules, milestones, and deliveries
- Write technical specifications and statements of work
- Coordinate with systems, mechanical, quality, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and IT teams
- Manage subcontractors and collaborate with manufacturers
- Work with customers, support manufacturing, and present in technical reviews
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an antenna or RF specialization
- At least 5 years of hands-on antenna development experience
- At least 4 years of management or technical leadership experience
- Experience designing and implementing airborne antennas
- Experience designing antennas for data links, flight termination, and telemetry
- Proven experience conducting antenna-range measurements and analyzing measurement results
- Proficiency with electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, or FEKO
- Experience presenting technical data to stakeholders and customers in design reviews and technical meetings
Nice to have
- PhD in Electrical Engineering specializing in antennas or RF
- Experience designing GPS antenna arrays
