Principal Accountant
Join a controllership team in Israel to oversee financial reporting, inventory accounting, R&D-related transfer pricing, and US GAAP compliance. The role also supports SAP S/4HANA transition and accounting process development.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements under US GAAP and local GAAP
- Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual close deliverables, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Oversee inventory accounting, including standard costing, variances, reserves, valuation, reconciliations, and physical inventory processes
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations on accounting for inventory movements, write-offs, and adjustments
- Record and document intercompany transactions and R&D cost allocations in line with transfer pricing policies
- Coordinate with Tax, Legal, and R&D Finance on transfer pricing documentation, agreements, and financial schedules
- Support SAP S/4HANA transition activities, including data migration, testing, and financial process design
- Develop accounting processes, controls, and workflows, and identify automation and process improvement opportunities
- Partner with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Supply Chain, R&D Finance, and Legal; liaise with external auditors
- Report financial risks, trends, and opportunities to management and support ad hoc projects and analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience; experience in a multinational or complex corporate environment is preferred
- Strong hands-on knowledge of US GAAP and its application to complex transactions
- Financial analysis skills, including interpreting complex data and communicating actionable insights
- Proficiency with SAP ERP, including SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling
- Familiarity with SOX requirements and internal controls
- Fluent written and spoken Hebrew and English
Nice to have
- Active Israeli CPA or CA certification
- Experience at a publicly listed company, preferably one listed in the United States
- Inventory accounting experience in manufacturing, MedTech, or a regulated environment
- Knowledge of transfer pricing for intercompany R&D transactions
- Experience with spin-offs, carve-outs, divestitures, or major business transformations
- Experience supporting an SAP S/4HANA migration or implementation
- Experience in medical devices, MedTech, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing
- Experience with major external audit firms
- Familiarity with Power BI, OneStream, or similar financial reporting and analytics tools
