Tomax is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own end-to-end reliability across its higher-education assessment software. The role spans requirements review, AI-assisted test execution, complex defect investigation, and production quality.
Responsibilities
- Own product quality across functional, edge-case, and user-experience dimensions.
- Review functional requirements and technical architecture to identify logic gaps, integration risks, and edge cases before development.
- Create, maintain, and run automated tests, mock datasets, and validation suites with AI-assisted development tools.
- Reproduce and isolate complex, multi-system customer defects using logs, database queries, and AI-assisted root-cause analysis.
- Establish quality practices, track release readiness and quality metrics, and support production stability.
- Build deep domain expertise across Tomax applications.
Requirements
- Experience or strong willingness to use command-line AI development tools such as Claude Code or Gemini.
- Ability to read JavaScript, Python, or similar code.
- Ability to work with REST APIs and write basic SQL queries.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and comfort with frequent context switching in an agile environment.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with product managers, developers, and customer support.
Nice to have
- Experience using Markdown files or system prompts to teach AI assistants product-specific validation rules.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, Bruno, or curl.
