A semiconductor technology company is hiring a Senior Staff Hardware Architect to define system and IP architectures for high-performance, high-quality, low-power products. The role is based in Hod HaSharon, Israel.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive architectures across chip-level components, subsystems, and system-level workflows.
- Translate product requirements into architectural specifications, features, and hardware/software execution models.
- Lead cross-functional technical decisions involving functionality, performance, scalability, power, and implementation trade-offs.
- Develop architectural models and analyze system behavior.
- Author technical specifications for implementation teams.
- Drive activities independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering groups.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in hardware and chip design flows.
- Knowledge of communication technologies and standards including Ethernet, PCIe, UALink, OCP, and UCIe.
- Demonstrated experience taking ASIC or SoC projects from architecture definition through tape-out.
- System-level understanding of hardware/software co-design and integration.
- Experience with modeling and system analysis; Python is preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in IC system design, VLSI design, verification, or related work.
- At least 3 years of experience in IC architecture.
- At least 3 years of experience with modeling tools.
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a related field, with 6 or more years of relevant ASIC experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 5 or more years, or a PhD with 4 or more years.
- Strong technical documentation, specification-writing, presentation, collaboration, and influencing skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with large datacenter ASICs, including Ethernet switches.
- Knowledge of Forward Error Correction schemes and high-speed link architectures.
- Experience with SoC security and streaming security protocols such as Root of Trust and MACsec.
- Experience working with global, cross-functional, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience collaborating with customers, vendors, and IP providers on complex projects.
- Experience managing outsourcing activities, suppliers, and IP deliverables.
