Lead architecture for host-management software and firmware across complex networking platforms, coordinating system flows, interfaces, and implementation across software, firmware, hardware, and validation teams.
Responsibilities
- Define software and firmware architecture for host management across networking platforms.
- Design system flows spanning host software, embedded firmware, BMCs, device firmware, and hardware interfaces.
- Guide architecture for telemetry, recovery, power management, module management, firmware updates, and control protocols.
- Translate product, customer, and platform needs into technical specifications and implementation plans.
- Coordinate with software, firmware, hardware, validation, program, architecture, and customer-facing teams.
- Provide technical leadership to engineers delivering complex cross-domain features.
- Own architecture documentation and communicate technical direction to engineering and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 12 years of experience in system software, firmware, embedded systems, platform management, or networking systems.
- Strong experience designing software and firmware architecture for complex systems.
- Deep understanding of firmware, embedded software, Linux, BMCs, host interfaces, and system-level debugging.
- Experience with protocols or technologies including PLDM, MCTP, NC-SI, PCIe, I2C, USB, CMIS, Ethernet, InfiniBand, or NVLink.
- Strong communication skills, including architecture documentation, specifications, and technical proposals.
Nice to have
- Experience with networking products, DPUs, NICs, switches, optical platforms, or hyperscale data-center systems.
- Background in host management, BMC architecture, platform firmware, telemetry, system restoration, power or thermal management, or module management.
- Experience defining software and firmware interfaces across large, multi-team programs.
- Hands-on experience with bring-up, validation, production debugging, or customer issue resolution.
- Track record of leading architecture from early definition through product delivery.
