Lead a hardware engineering team developing high-performance networking switches for next-generation data centers. Own technical execution from product definition and architecture through qualification, manufacturing, and production.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of hardware engineers delivering switch systems from concept through mass production.
- Provide technical leadership for specifications, electrical schematics, opto-mechanical design, component selection, PCB layout, laboratory testing, production processes, qualification, verification, characterization, design for testability, cost optimization, and reliability.
- Coordinate board design, assembly, mechanics, thermal engineering, PCB layout, production engineering, software and firmware, procurement, and new product introduction.
- Plan team workloads across multiple concurrent development projects and allocate resources effectively.
- Manage direct reports, including goal setting, coaching, performance reviews, career planning, and compensation recommendations.
- Gather and reconcile requirements from marketing, software, and systems engineering to define development plans for next-generation switches.
- Schedule projects, estimate outcomes, and drive timely execution for high-volume manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of industry experience in board design architecture, development, and methodology.
- At least 6 years of technical design management experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary projects involving multilayer, high-density PCB design.
- Deep understanding of broadband high-speed integrated circuits.
- Ability to balance power, performance, manufacturability, thermal behavior, and cost against product requirements.
- Experience executing complex designs under demanding schedules, including risk mitigation and detailed planning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to align teams and prioritize competing needs.
Nice to have
- Experience designing data center networking products for high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience with optoelectronics and optical communication systems.
