Lead the development of indirect time-of-flight camera systems, combining image-sensor modeling, software simulation, optical subsystem design, laboratory validation, and customer-focused reference solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, automate, and validate iToF sensor models and depth-calculation software pipelines.
- Collaborate on iToF camera modules, evaluation boards, proof-of-concept systems, and customer demonstrators.
- Define specifications for VCSEL and LED illumination, modulation frequencies, optical filters, lenses, and specialized PCBs.
- Characterize and calibrate iToF modules in the laboratory.
- Create software scripts to analyze hardware test data, sensor noise, and depth accuracy.
- Translate 3D sensing requirements into image-sensor technologies in collaboration with engineering and marketing teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience in camera systems, optical systems, or 3D sensing engineering.
- Deep knowledge of indirect time-of-flight sensor architectures, continuous-wave modulation, demodulation pixels, and active illumination.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for scientific computing, numerical analysis, pixel modeling, or depth-mapping software.
- Hands-on experience with active-illumination camera systems, such as depth cameras, driver monitoring systems, eye-tracking systems, or comparable time-of-flight technologies.
- Master's degree or doctorate in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience with CMOS image sensor pixel modeling, electro-optical numerical analysis, or semiconductor physics simulation.
- Experience with VCSEL or illumination optics design.
- Experience with iToF spatial or temperature calibration.
- Experience designing high-speed hardware boards.
