Physical Layer Architecture Engineer
Lead the architecture of physical layer communication for high-speed networking ASICs. Define hardware and firmware specifications, collaborate across teams, and drive industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from customer requirements to detailed technical specifications for hardware architecture, embedded software, and high-level design.
- Supervise implementation by team leads and developers, participate in design and QA reviews.
- Define the architecture for implementing physical layer standards in ASIC devices.
- Participate in standards bodies to define next-generation protocols.
- Define features for physical layer interoperability between communication generations.
- Collaborate with design, backend, system, marketing, firmware, and driver teams to converge on key decisions.
- Act as focal point for physical layer networking communication devices.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in physical layer communication, system, signal integrity, or high-speed protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Background in embedded software.
- Experience in networking.
- Experience with wire line physical layer protocols like IEEE 802.3, InfiniBand, PCIe, USB.
- Strong communication, analytical, and hands-on technical abilities.
