Define and evolve the architecture of a cloud-native SaaS platform. Partner with engineering and product teams to design scalable, reliable systems, guide technical decisions, and promote reusable platform capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Define architecture for APIs, services, data flows, integrations, observability, and security
- Translate product and business requirements into technical designs and architecture roadmaps
- Maintain architecture diagrams, decision records, reference implementations, and guidelines
- Evaluate technology choices, communicate trade-offs, and lead architecture decisions
- Partner with engineering squads on solution design, technical reviews, implementation alignment, and complex production issues
- Collaborate with Product on technical feasibility, sequencing, scope, and cross-squad initiatives
- Establish architecture principles, coding standards, and reusable modules, libraries, and services
- Drive adoption of shared observability, CI/CD, authentication, data, and DevOps capabilities
- Improve resilience, operability, performance, and reliability while leading technical-debt remediation
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads and foster constructive technical decision-making
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including several years in a senior, staff, or architect role
- Strong experience with backend and distributed architectures, including APIs, microservices or modular monoliths, and event-driven patterns
- Experience with cloud-native architecture, containers, and infrastructure as code
- Ability to design production SaaS systems for scale, performance, security, and reliability
- Hands-on experience with a major programming language and ecosystem such as Java, Python, or Node.js
- Hands-on experience architecting and implementing generative AI systems
- Ability to review code, guide implementation, and build prototypes or reference implementations
- Experience collaborating with product teams in agile or Kanban environments
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Experience in financial services, B2B SaaS, or enterprise integrations
- Background in data platforms, analytics, or ML-adjacent systems
- Familiarity with domain-driven design, event sourcing, or CQRS
