Build and own the backend foundation of a mobile gaming rewards platform. Design scalable services, APIs, distributed systems, data infrastructure, and third-party integrations for high-volume consumer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services and systems
- Design scalable APIs, services, and distributed systems
- Build and evolve data infrastructure for personalization, analytics, and business-critical workflows
- Develop integrations with gaming, advertising, and third-party platforms
- Make architectural decisions addressing scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams on robust technical solutions
- Lead projects from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Identify bottlenecks, technical risks, and system improvement opportunities
- Improve code quality, testing, observability, and engineering processes
- Help establish technical standards and engineering culture
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Exceptional coding skills in Java, C#, TypeScript, Go, Rust, or a similar high-level type-safe language
- Experience building and operating cloud-based, service-oriented systems
- Strong knowledge of backend architecture, APIs, databases, distributed systems, and software design
- Experience building reliable and scalable production systems
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, plus familiarity with caching and messaging systems
- Ability to independently solve complex, ambiguous technical problems and own projects through production
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have
- Production experience with Go
- Experience with Kafka, Redis, Snowflake, or similar technologies
- Experience designing data infrastructure or large-scale data pipelines
- Experience with high-scale consumer products
- Experience integrating gaming, advertising, attribution, payments, or other third-party platforms
- Experience in an early-stage startup or founding engineering team
- Experience with observability, performance optimization, and distributed systems
- Background in mobile gaming, adtech, consumer technology, AI, or data-driven products
