Lead the architectural vision and execution of software platforms supporting PET and SPECT systems. Partner with engineering, clinical, systems, and hardware teams to deliver scalable, secure, compliant, and clinically effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own architecture discussions across molecular imaging software subsystems and products.
- Define and evolve software platform architecture while integrating legacy systems with modern designs.
- Maintain architectural roadmaps aligned with product strategy and clinical needs.
- Translate architectural decisions into implementable designs across development teams.
- Review critical design decisions and system-level trade-offs.
- Govern architecture in accordance with design controls and regulatory standards such as IEC 62304.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and lead software modernization efforts.
- Define the long-term technology roadmap for PET and SPECT systems.
- Lead the design and governance of safe, compliant agentic AI use across the software development lifecycle.
- Coordinate system-level architecture with systems engineering, clinical applications, and hardware teams.
- Guide stakeholder engagement and integration with legacy and future-state systems.
- Support operational stability, serviceability, lifecycle cost optimization, planning, and technology risk assessment.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical career development and talent planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in software engineering and architecture for medical equipment products.
- Experience architecting complex distributed systems in a modality-specific context.
- Strong interpersonal and change management skills.
- Ability to set technical direction, mentor engineers, influence stakeholders, and build consensus across organizational levels.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-performance and real-time systems, including GPU-based computation.
- Experience designing secure AI use in software development.
- Knowledge of molecular imaging workflows, including acquisition, reconstruction, and image processing.
- Knowledge of DICOM and HL7 healthcare interoperability standards.
