As Principal Engineer, you will define the long-term architecture and strategy for AI-first development tools, lead company-wide technical initiatives, and elevate engineering practices across the R&D organization.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive long-term strategy for AI-first development tools in collaboration with engineering leadership.
- Develop and integrate tools based on the latest AI technologies to accelerate the R&D department.
- Lead company-wide technical initiatives, ensuring alignment across multiple teams.
- Establish and formalize engineering best practices around performance, reliability, and observability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve scalability, developer productivity, and system robustness.
Requirements
- 15+ years of professional experience building software systems.
- Proven track record in technical leadership roles, delivering complex cross-functional projects.
- Deep understanding of architecture, scalability, and operations for enterprise software.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong coding skills in one or more modern backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, Java, C#).
- Power user of AI-first development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, agents, MCP servers).
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to align directors and executives toward a shared vision.
- First principles thinking to break down recommendations to basic technical truths.
