Backend Team Lead - REM Ingestion
Drive the architecture and development of large-scale data ingestion systems for autonomous vehicle mapping. Lead a team of backend engineers, ensuring high availability, low latency, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Balance hands-on development with project management, resource planning, and delivery.
- Architect end-to-end ingestion pipelines for massive scale, ensuring low latency and high availability.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, fostering technical excellence.
- Optimize system performance, data throughput, and cloud infrastructure utilization.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience leading backend engineering teams.
- 5+ years of backend development with high-scale, distributed cloud architectures.
- Hands-on experience with streaming and queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ).
- Strong cloud experience, preferably AWS (EKS, S3, CloudFront) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in Node.js and/or Python.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Data Lake architectures (e.g., Iceberg, Glue).
Nice to have
- Experience with task queues and stream processing frameworks (Celery, Spark).
- Background in geospatial data processing.
