Develop guidance, mission-level decision-making, and motion planning algorithms for autonomous drone platforms operating in dynamic real-world environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize guidance and motion planning algorithms for autonomous drones.
- Define mission-level behaviors and guidance logic while balancing performance, safety, and robustness.
- Implement real-time control interfaces for reliable trajectory execution in uncertain conditions.
- Integrate guidance systems with embedded software, mechatronics, and perception teams.
- Identify edge cases and failure modes and build resilience and graceful degradation.
- Track advances in drone autonomy, guidance, motion planning, and control.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering field.
- At least 3 years of experience in GNC, guidance, autonomy, or related aerospace or robotics fields.
- Experience with AI tools, guidance algorithms, trajectory generation, and motion planning.
- Understanding of system-level constraints affecting real-world aerial platforms.
- Hands-on experience developing, debugging, and iterating on drones.
- Ability to collaborate across software, hardware, and deployment teams.
Nice to have
- Strong foundation in control theory.
- Experience with state estimation techniques, including Extended Kalman Filters (EKF).
- Experience with ROS 2, PX4, ArduPilot, or similar robotics frameworks.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
