Senior AI Engineer
Join a team building fully autonomous AI customer-service agents for insurance. Design, build, and own production LLM agent systems, real-time voice agents, and knowledge bases, measuring impact through experimentation and cost optimization while shipping reliable backend services in TypeScript/Node on Kubernetes/AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own production LLM agent systems end-to-end, defining agent behavior, permissions, and failure handling.
- Develop real-time voice agents focusing on conversational challenges like interruptions, mid-sentence tool calls, and low latency.
- Shape the knowledge base structure and curation to keep agent answers grounded as coverage grows.
- Ship changes as controlled experiments, measure them against thousands of replayed conversations, and graduate winners to production.
- Track cost per conversation across millions of LLM calls and optimize spend without reducing quality.
- Own model knowledge and guardrails, including customer context visibility and limits against hallucinations.
- Build and operate scalable backend services in TypeScript/Node on Kubernetes/AWS with deep observability.
Requirements
- 6+ years building production-grade backend systems.
- Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features to production, including managing non-determinism, hallucination, and cost.
- Evaluation mindset with comfort in statistics to validate changes.
- Track record of debugging distributed systems in production and finding root cause across service boundaries.
- Fluency with agentic coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor, and treating AI-generated code with senior skepticism.
- Ability to pull own numbers, design experiments, and measure impact.
- Willingness to work in an office environment most days.
