Develop genomic data analysis tools, machine learning algorithms, and high-throughput sequencing pipelines supporting cancer diagnostics and research. The role collaborates with R&D, production, clinical, data science, software engineering, and business analysis teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex next-generation and whole-genome sequencing datasets using statistical and probabilistic methods
- Research and develop deep learning architectures, statistical algorithms, and mathematical models for genomics
- Design and prototype genomic data-processing pipelines and algorithms
- Build high-throughput sequencing pipelines with R&D, production, and clinical teams
- Develop data specifications and data science processes
- Optimize genomic data analytics platforms and critical systems
- Support product quality through aligned processes and metrics
- Prepare technical documentation, research reports, and algorithm specifications
- Identify opportunities to improve existing technology and develop future solutions
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, bioinformatics, statistics, or a related field
- A strong foundation in probability theory and statistics
- At least three years of relevant experience when holding a master’s degree
- Expertise in scientific methods, algorithms, systems, and data-driven insight extraction
- Advanced knowledge of machine learning, signal processing, and quantitative methods
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, scripting, file parsing, and data visualization
- Experience analyzing next-generation sequencing or whole-genome sequencing data
- Knowledge of bioinformatics tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with regulated-environment data management
- AWS or other cloud computing experience
- Knowledge of clinical diagnostic workflows or genetic processes
- Experience with databases, statistics, or genetics
