Seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive delivery of complex optical communications systems for space applications. Manage cross-functional teams, budgets, and risks. Requires 10+ years of project management experience in telecommunications, space, or technology industries. PMP certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex multi-faceted projects in a product-focused organization alongside Product Owners and Technical Leads.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable project delivery plans.
- Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor and control project progress, identify risks and issues, and proactively develop solutions.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure collaboration and timely execution of tasks.
- Manage project communication, including status reporting, stakeholder management, and escalation of issues.
- Ensure project goals, objectives, and requirements are met while adhering to industry regulations and standards.
- Manage budgeting and financial tracking, including budget forecasts.
- Develop and implement change management plans in accordance with customer commitments.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in project management and agile working.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the telecommunications, space or technology industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects within scope, budget, and timelines.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Extensive experience in risk management, change management, and stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts related to optical communications, satellite systems, or high-speed data transfer.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-focused with the ability to connect detailed product work to overarching strategic objectives.
Nice to have
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
- Experience working within an Agile delivery framework, including with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Master's degree in Space Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ECSS (European Co-operation for Space Standards), Aerospace standards, space technologies and space industry trends.
- Experience working in a research and development environment.
- Background in a fast-paced, high-tech startup environment.
