A security-sector organization is seeking a Components Engineer to manage component availability, lifecycle risks, substitutions, technical validation, and production support.
Responsabilidades
- Identify reliable and available component substitutes.
- Create replacement plans and maintain operational continuity for at-risk components.
- Create alternative approved vendor lists and lead ECO, AVL, and qualification processes.
- Maintain component libraries in PLM and ERP systems.
- Ensure accurate and continuous bills of materials.
- Support procurement and production teams on component-related matters.
- Respond to manufacturing questions and troubleshoot component-related issues.
Requisitos
- Analyze datasheets and validate electrical, mechanical, and thermal compatibility of substitute components.
- Assess component availability, lead times, lifecycle status, alternative manufacturers, and shortage risks.
- Identify components at risk, including obsolete, end-of-life, and not-recommended-for-new-design components.
- Coordinate with engineering and development teams to approve replacement components.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical information, PCN/PDN notices, and regulatory documentation.
